Pax Reginae How heavy is the head that wears the crown? How grave the countenance that can but see? Queen’s counsel doled by smile, headshake or frown, Representing the British monarchy. Sacrificing her own identity, Bounded by the weight of expectation, Seventy years of continuity, Given to Family, God and Nation. Committed service since Coronation, Prince Philip’s love her only strength and stay, Reforming monarchy’s institution, Making it relevant to modern day. But pomp and circumstance, all now are past, Now, she dwells with God - just herself at last. Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine.
