I was fortunate to have met Her Majesty three times in my life, the second occasion was whilst I was a resident at Goodenough College when, as Patron, The Queen visited the College in 1999. 

I was struck on each meeting by her slight build, piercing blue eyes, strong presence, grace and sense of humour. 

She really was majestic and dedicated her whole life to service. 

I woudl later take an Oath to serve Queen, Commonwealth and Country as an Officer of the British Army. 

Her Majesty was feminine strength and power personified.  In her own words "grief is the price we pay for love".

An end of an era but what a legacy.  Rest in peace Your Majesty.
